Problem

Vietnam's 2025 administrative restructuring changed thousands of boundaries, breaking address validation workflows for businesses.

Solution

Built a structured geographical boundary model mapped hierarchically into a public NPM library and self-hosted API.

Key Decision

Chose a static JSON-first deployment architecture over SQL database lookups to enable direct CDN caching and offline integration.

Problem

A hospitality chain with 44 physical locations had no way to monitor, aggregate, or instantly alert teams of negative Google Reviews.

Solution

Designed a centralized scraping pipeline that gathers Maps feedback and routes updates through direct Webhook alerts.

Key Decision

Used Bull + Redis queue workers to serialize and schedule requests across concurrent branches, bypassing Google's strict IP bans.

An older storefront suffered from low Lighthouse scores (<60), resulting in poor search engine placement and lost conversions.

Solution

Rebuilt the ecommerce experience using Next.js static generation strategies, asset compression, and strict semantic HTML markup.

Key Decision

Leveraged Next.js Incremental Static Regeneration (ISR) to balance sub-second static page performance with real-time stock updates.

Next.js streaming application with a full CI/CD pipeline, integrated GitHub Actions runners, and Cloudflare Tunnels.

Problem

Needed a private, cloud-independent media streaming suite that runs on home hardware without relying on expensive hosting platforms.

Solution

Configured a Next.js App deployed inside a local VM environment, utilizing secure, portless routing pipelines to the web.

Key Decision

Deployed on self-hosted Proxmox nodes routed via Cloudflare Tunnels, completely bypassing the requirement for static public IPs.

Beyond code: How I structure systems.

Think in Systems

Before writing a single line, I map the full data flow. What goes in? What comes out? Where does it fail? This systems-first thinking prevents local optimizations that break global coherence.

When building the Vietnam address API, the challenge wasn't just parsing data — it was designing an endpoint contract that would remain stable as administrative boundaries changed every few years.

Model the Data First

The shape of your data is the shape of your product. Poorly modeled data creates technical debt that compounds faster than bad code. Clean schemas unlock clean code.

For every project, I invest time upfront in data modeling — entity relationships, normalization level, query patterns — before the first API route or UI component.

Ship with Intent

Shipped > perfect. But shipped also means: documented, versioned, and usable by someone who isn't you. Every project I ship has a README, a live deployment, and a clear use case.

The NPM package for vn-xaphuong-2025 was published with full TypeScript types, JSDoc comments, and a changelog from day one — because open source without documentation is just noise.
